Every lesson. Every textbook. Every model essay.
H2 or H1. Whether you're at U or B — we've built the system to get you to A.
You studied. You really did. You re-read your notes, memorised the definitions, maybe even rewrote your diagrams until they looked textbook-perfect.
Then the paper came back. C. D. Maybe worse.
And now there's this sinking feeling you can't shake — "I don't even know what I'm doing wrong."
Maybe it's the content. Market structures feel like a foreign language. Cost curves make zero sense. You sit in lectures and nod along, but the moment you try to explain it yourself — nothing.
Or maybe you get the content — but your essays keep landing at L1 or L2. Your teacher writes "lacks rigour" or "evaluation missing," and you're not even sure what that means, let alone how to fix it.
Or maybe it's bigger than that. You're drowning in subjects, CCA is eating your schedule alive, and Economics has quietly become the thing you keep putting off — until it's too late to catch up.
This is normal. And it's fixable.
The problem isn't that you're bad at Economics. The problem is that nobody's shown you how it actually works — how to think it, write it, and score it.
That's where we come in.
Economics isn't like the subjects you took in secondary school. You can't memorise your way to an A. Not here.
The A Levels test three things at once: whether you understand the concepts, whether you can apply them to real-world contexts, and whether you can write about them with the precision of a policy analyst. Most students are only trained for the first one.
That's why so many hardworking students hit a wall. They study more, but their grades don't move — because more hours on the wrong approach just reinforces the wrong habits.
Most students learn the content just fine. But content alone doesn't score. A 10-mark question demands a specific structure. A 15-mark question adds an evaluative component that most students struggle to get more than 1 or 2 marks for. And case study questions require you to extract data and convert it into precise, examiner-friendly analysis. These are skills that take deliberate practice to build, and most students simply aren't getting enough of it.
You can try to figure this out on your own. Some students do. It takes longer, and it's lonely — but it's possible.
Or you can learn it from people who've reverse-engineered the exam for 19 years, taught over 4,000 students, and literally wrote the answer key.
Economics at TuitionGenius (ETG) is a specialist A Level economics tuition centre in Singapore, founded in 2007. For 19 years, our entire focus has been on one subject: JC Economics — H1 and H2.
Every lesson, every textbook, every model essay, every prediction list, every crashcourse, every late-night WhatsApp reply. All of it is built for one purpose: getting JC students their A in Economics.
Our materials aren't AI slop written by fresh A Level graduates working as receptionists with a side job description as "curriculum specialist." They're written and designed by Mr Toh himself, a founder with 19 years of experience who authored the TYS answers, updated every term, and aligned to the latest SEAB exam trends.
Our tutors aren't undergraduates who may not even be taking A Level Economics. They're specialists with degrees from Oxford, Cambridge, NUS, Carnegie Mellon, and SMU, led by a founder who authored the H1 and H2 TYS answers published by SAP at Popular. We even have a former HCI lecturer who taught H3 Economics on our team.
"We're not generalists. We're the cardiologists of JC Econs."
Need help with other subjects? We have trusted recommendations, including Genius Plus Academy for Math. We also run a General Paper programme that's been quietly building results since 2018.
Curious? Come see for yourself — no commitment needed.
When you join ETG, you're stepping into a complete system — content, skills, practice, feedback, and support — designed to work together so nothing falls through the cracks.
One 2-hour lesson per week, taught by Mr Eugene Toh and our specialist team. Content, application, and exam technique — integrated, not separated. Choose onsite, Zoom, or catch up via recording.
See Mr Toh in action:
A structured essay or case study every week, with a video walkthrough and personalised marking and feedback.
Every lesson recorded and uploaded to our LMS. Rewatch, binge-revise, or catch up at your own pace — anytime, anywhere.
Book face-to-face or Zoom consults — included, not extra. Or text Mr Toh directly. Yes, he replies. Even at midnight.
Spacious classrooms. A fully stocked snack pantry — KitKats, cup noodles, drinks. A space you'll actually want to study in.
Every term, you receive a freshly printed, syllabus-aligned textbook written by Mr Toh — not recycled notes from years ago. The full library includes Express content books, essay guidebooks with model answers, summary cheatsheets, diagrams booklets, and the official Concise TYS Answers. 15+ publications in total, updated annually to reflect the latest SEAB exam trends. These aren't sold in bookstores — they're exclusive to ETG students.
Every year, Mr Toh analyses 20+ years of past A Level papers, every top-JC prelim set, and current economic trends to build a focused prediction list. Students regularly walk into the exam having already practised 4–5 out of 6 essay themes and case study contexts weeks before the paper. This isn't guesswork — it's pattern recognition built on nearly two decades of reverse-engineering how SEAB sets questions.
From end-June onwards, every student receives a printed Revision Booklet with a week-by-week game plan running right through to A Levels. Each week maps out exactly which topics to revise, which skills to drill, and which homework to complete. You don't need to build your own study schedule or wonder what to focus on next — the roadmap tells you what to do, when to do it, and in what order. Less panic, more precision.
Mr Toh leads — but he's backed by a team with degrees from Cambridge, Carnegie Mellon, NUS, and SMU, including a former HCI lecturer who teaches H3 Economics, a Lee Kong Chian Scholar, and tutors with 4–5 years of ETG teaching experience. This isn't freelancers on rotation. It's a specialist team built for one subject.
JC is relentless. CCAs, competitions, project work, block tests, and yes — the occasional birthday. Some weeks you can make it to class. Some weeks you can't. With ETG's economics tuition programme, that's fine. You never fall behind.
Walk into any of our centres. Spacious classrooms, snack pantry, face-to-face interaction with Mr Toh and our tutors.
Join from home in your pyjamas. Same lesson, same interaction, same Q&A. Studio-grade audio and 4K video — we've been running online classes since 2018, before COVID made it cool.
Every lesson is recorded and uploaded to our LMS. 160+ lessons available. Binge before block tests, rewatch tricky topics, catch up on what you missed.
Different students learn differently. Some want a fixed slot every week — same day, same time, same seat. Others prefer to decide week by week based on their schedule. We accommodate both. No admin hassle, no penalty.
Here's something our students love. Every chapter in our ETG textbook has a lesson code printed at the bottom. Studying for your block test and feeling stuck on Chapter 14? Key the code into our LMS and the exact recorded lesson appears.
Same content, same examples, same explanations — ready to rewatch at 2x speed the night before your test.
Our students binge-watch lessons before every major exam. It's like having Mr Toh on demand.
Fixed or flexible — you choose. Lock in a weekly slot if you like routine. Or decide on the day — attend onsite, Zoom in, or watch the recording. Miss a lesson? Switch to another class timing that week, or catch the recording. The system catches you either way.
Have questions about class timings or how our schedule works?
Most tuition centres hand you a photocopy and call it "notes." At ETG, every student receives a library — written, designed, and updated in-house. These materials aren't available in bookstores.
Custom-printed. Updated annually. Made exclusively for ETG students. Worth $500+ — included free with registration.
These aren't generic notes. Every resource is written by Mr Eugene Toh specifically for the current A Level syllabus and updated annually based on exam trends.
Beautifully illustrated cheatsheets covering key Micro and Macro concepts, plus a complete diagrams reference — the same materials our students use. Enter your email and we'll send you a PDF copy within 24 hours.

ETG was founded in 2007 by Mr Eugene Toh — not from a business plan, but because students kept asking him to teach.
Back then, he was an NUS Economics student who had a knack for making concepts click. He'd explain opportunity cost using bubble tea. Break down inflation by comparing movie ticket prices. Word got around, his schedule filled up, and ETG was born.
But here's what actually matters:
He still teaches. Not as a figurehead — as your actual tutor, in the room, every week. He still writes the textbooks. Still marks essays. Still runs consults. Still answers your WhatsApp messages at 11:45pm the night before your paper.
Most centres have a "face" who disappears once you sign up. Mr Toh is the opposite. He's here for the unglamorous stuff — the lesson planning, the paper analysis, the staying-back-after-class to explain that one CSQ you still don't get.
That's rare. And it's the reason ETG students don't just respect him — they trust him.
Got a question about Economics or how ETG can help? Ask him directly.
We don't cherry-pick our best students and pretend they're the norm. These are whole-cohort numbers. The real picture. Every year.
"I only joined ETG in the middle of my A Level year, entering with a borderline U grade. With only a few months of attending one class a week and following their homework, my grade increased to a B!!"
"I feel that if I were to join the tuition early on, I would definitely have been able to secure an A."
"Really have Mr Toh to thank for being able to score an A at the A Levels. Scored an E in my mid-years, but after going through intense and effective revision at ETG, I managed to identify my gaps and work on them."
"The curriculum at ETG is extremely thorough — they do not leave anything from the syllabus untouched."
"Joined J2 just after MYE, and my results jumped by 4 grades from MYE to the actual A Levels. Mr Toh's lessons were really helpful and he is extremely well versed in the syllabus."
"He had a list of predictions that helped hugely in narrowing down what to focus on. Would definitely recommend ETG!"
"The livestream experience was actually very good for me. Towards A Levels, I was watching from home. It helped me save a lot of travel time and I could do quite a lot of revision in those 1-2 hours saved."
"The LMS really helped because I joined at the start of J2 and could quickly catch up with all the previous lessons. Before A Levels, I spammed a bunch of videos and it really helped consolidate my knowledge."
"The LMS programme is super helpful. If you ever miss a lesson, you can always go back and refer to the whole lesson. Being taught under Mr Toh will make you learn to love Econs."
"By A Levels, it's like muscle memory. 3 of my sisters attended ETG and said Mr Toh was the best."

"Toh's dedication to teaching Economics is borderline insane: He's pretty much teaching 24/7, clocking in about 30 to 40 hours of teaching and free-of-charge consultations with students which can be up to 20 hours or more."
"From a pantry stocked with snacks, to McDonald's for breakfast, to plane tickets as a reward for good grades — Eugene is on his way to making tuition not just enriching, but enjoyable. And with a seemingly endless list of positive testimonials, this approach is definitely working."
We study 20+ years of past papers and every top-JC prelim set to identify what's coming. Students regularly walk into the exam having already practised the key questions.
Seen enough? Here's how to get started.

Everything you need to know about our JC economics tuition programme.
Economics at TuitionGenius (ETG) is a specialist A Level economics tuition centre in Singapore, founded in 2007 by Mr Eugene Toh. Unlike general tuition centres that cover multiple subjects, ETG focuses exclusively on JC Economics — both H1 and H2.
What sets ETG apart is that the entire programme — textbooks, model essays, TYS answers, and lesson curriculum — is written by the same person who authored the official Ten-Year Series answer keys published by SAP. Mr Toh holds a B.A. in Economics from NUS and an M.Sc. in Applied Economics from SMU, and he personally teaches every cohort.
In 2024, 70.3% of ETG's cohort scored an A in H2 Economics. Students from top JCs such as RI, HCI, NJC, DHS, EJC, and RVHS achieved over 90% A-rates. These are whole-cohort numbers — ETG does not cherry-pick or selectively report results.
ETG has maintained a 65% distinction rate across 19 consecutive cohorts since 2007, and has guided over 4,000 students to their A Level Economics exams. ETG has over 500 verified five-star Google Reviews.
ETG offers two plans. The Essential plan (Zoom + on-demand recordings) is $110/lesson for JC2 and $100/lesson for JC1. The Essential+ plan (onsite + Zoom + recordings) is $115/lesson for JC2 and $105/lesson for JC1.
Both plans include full access to 160+ recorded lessons, weekly graded homework with feedback, unlimited consultations with Mr Toh, 24/7 WhatsApp support, and all in-house textbooks and materials. Financial assistance (25% to 100% subsidies) is available for families who need support.
Yes. ETG's econs tuition programme offers three modes: onsite at our centres, live Zoom, and on-demand recorded lessons. Essential+ students can switch between onsite and Zoom weekly with no restrictions or additional fees.
ETG has been running online economics tuition since 2018 — before COVID — with studio-grade equipment, professional microphones, and 4K webcams. Every lesson is recorded and uploaded to the Learning Management System (LMS), where 160+ lessons are available for revision.
You have three options: attend a different class timing that same week, Zoom in from home, or watch the full recorded lesson on the LMS at your own pace. Every chapter in the ETG textbook has a lesson code that links directly to the corresponding recorded lesson, so you can find exactly what you need.
Yes. ETG's programme covers both H1 and H2 Economics. H1 students follow the same core curriculum with adjustments for the H1 syllabus scope. Mr Toh authored the official H1 TYS answer keys (published by SAP), so the programme is specifically calibrated to both exam formats.
ETG students receive 15+ exclusive in-house publications including the Express Textbook Series (updated every term), essay guidebooks with model answers, the official Concise TYS Answers, summary cheatsheets, and diagrams booklets. These are written by Mr Eugene Toh and his Academics & Publications team — they are not available in bookstores.
Students also receive full LMS access with 160+ recorded video lessons, weekly graded homework assignments, and Mr Toh's annual A Level prediction list.
We're proud of our results — but we'd rather you understood them than just believed them. So here's the honest picture.
Our 2024 cohort achieved a 70.3% A-rate. In recent years, the figure has ranged between 68% and 72%. Our 19-year average across all cohorts since 2007 is approximately 65%. These are real numbers, but they come with caveats that we think you should know about.
Response bias. Our statistics are based on students who report their results back to us. Students who score well are naturally more likely to respond. This means our reported A-rate is probably somewhat higher than the true cohort-wide figure. Every tuition centre that reports statistics faces this same limitation — most just don't tell you about it.
Selection bias. Students who enrol at ETG are not a random sample of the JC population. Many come from top JCs like RI, HCI, NJC, and DHS. Many are already motivated, hardworking, and academically capable. This input quality contributes to the output. We'd be dishonest to claim otherwise.
The normal distribution problem. In any sufficiently large cohort, results will approximate a normal distribution. A tuition programme can shift the mean — tighten the spread, raise the floor, give more students the tools to reach the top end — but it cannot break the curve entirely. There are limits to how much any single intervention can skew outcomes in a positive direction, and anyone claiming otherwise is selling you a fantasy.
So what should you actually look at? We'd suggest this: don't trust statistics from any tuition centre at face value — including ours. Instead, read the student testimonials and assess whether they sound like real people with real experiences. Look at the quality of our materials — we publish them openly. Evaluate the credentials and experience of the teaching team. Sit in on a trial lesson and judge the quality of instruction for yourself. These are harder to fake than a percentage.
We believe our system genuinely helps students improve — our transformation stories and 500+ verified reviews across Google and Facebook reflect that. But we'd rather earn your trust through transparency than through a number on a page.
Yes. ETG offers free trial lessons with no obligation. Every trial student receives a complimentary Starter Pack worth $100, including the Macroeconomics Express guide, Economics Diagrams Booklet, Economics Summary Booklet, and an ETG document bag.
